How do you set a static IP address on an iPad Pro's ethernet connection? I am using an ethernet to USB adapter plugged into and lightning to USB adapter, and it works just fine for DHCP connections. Am I my missing something?

You can't control such things on an iPad, sorry to tell you that.
That is disappointing...
Some routers will allow you to reserve a particular local IP address for a specified device (by MAC address) - you would have to check your router's documentation. Obviously this is nothing to do with the IP address your network has to the outside world, that is set by your ISP (static addresses usually cost extra).

I am missing something. Why not connect your iPad to Wi-Fi? I know there are some workarounds advertized on the web but iPads are intended for Wi-Fi or Cellular usage. What advantage do you see for ethernet?
