I found a similar question from a few years ago but no answers, and this started happening to me a few days a go after maybe a month of not syncing my ipod.
any ideas?
160gb ipod classic on windows 10 with latest versions of both windows and itunes.
iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009), Windows 10
i did that before, and it didn't fix it.
all of the folders have the "read only" box checked, whether they sync or not.
is there any other permission thing that i could try?

i have noticed that the songs that won't sync have a tiny yellow lock on their icon in the windows 10 explorer
this is probably no longer an itunes issue and a windows issue but if anyone knows how to fix this problem that would be amazing?!
Folders always show as read-only. Can you post a screenshot of this lock symbol? Are the files encrypted or compressed? Neither would be good.

So far I cannot recreate the padlock here, but I've found a couple of articles that may help.
One suggests you need to allow the Users group access:
