trying to stream youtube on MacBook Pro to Apple TV via Airplay. Apple TV shows code on screen but MacBook Pro rejects it
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
While set to require device verification, the MB Air could not stream to the TV via Airplay. No code was displayed either.
Once reset to NOT require verification, the MB Air could once again stream to the TV. The MB Pro still cannot
I tried restarting the Apple TV. Once restarted, I tried to activate Airplay but received a dialog box requesting the Airplay code for the Apple TV but no code is displayed on the TV. Verification is set to "Off"
I tried using my personal Apple TV passcode and that was not accepted either

What device creates your network? It is either an Apple AirPort Base Station (Extreme, Express, or Time Capsule) or some other manufacturer's product.
If you are using any so-called "anti-virus", "Internet security" or "firewall" products on that MBP, remove them according to their respective instructions. Do not reinstall them regardless of the outcome.
If you did not install anything resembling that description, contact AppleCare. The problems you're describing are bizarre.

I have no 3rd party anti-virus software installed. Everything else works fine.
I just got back online after doing this (moving Network interface plist file to trash and restarting). It took a long time and several reboots to get up and running again. did not fix issue
Your pictures definitely look like device verification is enabled on the Apple TV. But you have confirmed that it is not. I could imagine that the computer might request some nonexistent code, but it's hard to believe that ATV would display the code. And your observations here Re: How do I get Airplay to work from Safari on Mac to Apple TV? are jist strange. Beats me...
Since everything checks out except the ATV is acting irrational and inconsistent, I would do a factory restore on the ATV. The system software must have gotten corrupt. The ATV has to be the one driving the code in error since it would be the one to prompt it.
Restore your Apple TV to its factory settings - Apple Support
Make sure you pick factory restore otherwise you will not reload all the system software and your issues will persist.
To be clear, My MB Pro requests s code whether Device verification on the ATV is on or off. I turned it on to generate a code but that code is always rejected when entered on the MB Pro....

You said the MB Air that works is running 10.9.5. Your MBP that doesn't work is running 10.11.4. It's hard to explain, but could there be something in the newer OS that's triggering this behavior?
IM having the exact same issue with my late 2013 Mac book pro running 10.11.5 And running tv os 9.2.1. airplay worked fine on both my mac book pro and iPhone prior to the updates last week. Now, I can AirPlay from my iPhone but the Mac book pro says the code is wrong. I've tried enabling the code on the ATV, still wrong pass code error on the Mac book pro. Extremely frustrating.
