Notes on iCloud.com cannot show Chinese in right content viewer since May 16, 2016

Thanks for your reply. I changed the encoding from UTF-8 to Chinese Traditional (big-5), iCloud site showed nothing but a small circle; I waited for a while and saw nothing happened, so I had to change it back to UTF-8.

Did you experience the same situation? How did you work it out?

This morning, I opened Chrome and login iCloud.com to check my Notes: 😊All Chinese characters are shown correctly. I don't know what happened. However, I wanted to make sure if the problem is resolved, so I opened IE 11 (in windows 7), deleted all cache and cookie, histories... logged into icloud.com; 😢😢 the problem is still there, all Chinese characters are still displayed as circles.

I start to think that the iPhone Notes is not an ideal tool that I can rely on. Last year, it suddenly stopped sync to MS outlook; I had to open an icloud account and then migrated my notes into icloud.com one by one.

Does anyone know if there are any app can replace Notes which allows me to write notes in iPhone and from Windows?

Chinese characters in Unicode cannot be displayed when I tried a new iCloud account.

I logged in iCloud using another icloud account. No notes was there. I created a new note item, started to type Chinese via Firefox browser. The right side panel only shows circles instead of Chinese fonts that I typed, but in the center panel (2nd column), Chinese fonts can be shown correctly.

It tried on both window 7 and windows 10, Chrome and IE, it did not working for me. The note can be only rendered in UTF-8.

This was what I did in Chrome, I changed encoding from More Tools -> Encoding -> select character sets. Is this correct?

By following your instruction, I can get the same positive result. Simplified Chinese can be rendered correctly in Chinese Traditional settings. Thank you very much.

My default setting was English. It could show Chinese characters since the very beginning. I believe icloud.com must change something which caused the issue. Hopefully one day, they can fix it.

It seems that iCloud is running normally in recent days. It is not necessary to set up any preferred language, e.g. my preferred language is English; and now the Chinese Characters display correctly.
