Problem Downloading/Installing Security Update 2016-003

I've have attempted three times to install Security Update 2016-003 and have each time received the following message:

Security Update 2016-003 could not be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. Click Update to download and check the update again. (After your computer restarts, go to the Updates page of the App Store for more information.)

Had not problem installing the iTunes and Safari updates.

There is a Mavericks version of this security update, and there is a Yosemite version (different!):

For those of us (including myself) who are current with OS X (running El Capitan OS X 10.11.4 until the 10.11.5 update was released), this security update is included with OS X 10.11.5. It is not a separate update.

Thank you for the information, sberman; much appreciated. 🙂

Unfortunately, this installation is having the same problem: I mount it, begin the Install process, click Restart when it appears… and then, my screen dims to black with no activity going on whatsoever, i.e., no progress bar indicating the installation process is proceeding the way that it is supposed to, as it always has before with security updates. I left it that way for fifteen minutes before shutting down the computer and rebooting. Same thing as yesterday, despite having restored my MBP to a pre-update state.

Apparently, whatever happened with the App Store installation has seriously messed something up on my computer. I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone else who can assist with this. If I need to post the problem in a different forum now, please let me know.
