Burn iMovie(.mp4) to disc w/iDVD?

Created a movie w/iMovie - it's 28+ min long - 'exported to "Theatre"' & created a file on hd...exported as an .mp4 file into "Movies/iMovie Events/**.mp4", however when I open iDVD (7.1.2) and try to create a new project, or Magic DVD...whatever...the .mp4 file does not show up anywhere in my options. Can I just move it (drag & drop)? Does iDVD not support .mp4 files? I'm so confused by this... The file is 'too long' (over 15 minutes) to be supported in iCloud, so it won't show up in iDVD...is that right? Why don't these programs get along seamlessly...?

DVD's are standard definition so your HD file can't be used.

Share to File in iMovie and change the dimension to the 480 size and save it to your Desktop. Use that file with iDVD.

Yes, you can drag into iDVD the mpeg-4 movie that you shared to your desktop. In iDVD, click on the + sign in the lower left of the project window. A drop down menu will give you the option to Add Movie. Click on that. A link button will appear in the project window. Drag your movie into that.

I'm pretty sure that you can drag and drop a HD movie into iDVD, but it just will display in standard def. Try it and see if it works.

I was unclear in my original post w/"hd"...file 'saved to Mac hard drive (hd)' - (not an "HD" file per se...) BUT your instructions finally allowed me to access the files that I wanted to drag & drop...Thank You So Much!
