Apple watch sending messages from wrong phone number

Hi ..

Make sure both iPhones are up to date.

Tap Settings > General > Software Update

Latest iOS is 9.3.2.

If the software is up to date, un pair both iPhones then re pair.

Restart the Apple Watch ...

1. Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
2. Drag the slider to turn off your device completely.
3. After you turn off your Apple Watch, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.

If that doesn't help, force restart both iPhones.

Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

This is neither necessary nor appropriate (nor is restarting your watch, which you only just re-paired).

Force restarting your iPhone should typically only be performed as a last resort, when your iPhone is completely unresponsive.

This seems to suggest that both iPhones are using the same Apple ID for iMessage. If so, this is the most likely cause of your issue.

Whilst Digital Touch messages can be "sent from" your iPhone number, they are also still associated with your Apple ID. If your Apple ID is associated with two different phone numbers, then issues can arise.

This setting only affects how incoming message alerts are delivered on your watch (either in the same way as on your iPhone or with a customised choice of sound, haptic feedback and/or repeated alerts).

The issue can likely best be resolved by using a separate Apple ID on each phone.

It may also then help to organise your personal details into separate work and personal contact cards in the Contacts app on each iPhone and then, on each iPhone:

- Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > in the Contacts section, check that My Info is using the appropriate contact card for that iPhone.

- Settings > General > Siri > My Info - check that the same card is selected.

I'd restore as new. If you don't have problems sending messages from the Apple Watch then there's something in the backup that's causing a conflict.
