Gmail Junk folder missing

I cannot see my 'junk' folder for my gmail account within apple mail. All my other folders are showing - see below but on the last image you will see within the box that the gmail one is missing. Any ideas? I have enabled imap in my gmail settings and set the gmail account up within apple mail using their pre done import method? I can see my gmail inbox/sent/trash/drafts but not junk - as per images below. Any help appreciated !

Do you have it set to store junk messages on the server? If not, you should have a spam mailbox under the gmail account in the sidebar. If you have it set to store messages on the server and the spam folder resides under the gmail account, select the spam mailbox and then go to the menu, Mailboxes, and select Use This Mailbox For and choose Junk.

Hi Glenn - the only junk folder I can find within any Gmail folder on the left hand side within apple mail is this one (firs pic) - different from the others as it has the curly brackets, but I think you may have answered it as I don't have the spam mailbox to show in Imap under labels - see 2nd pic below. Should I go ahead and check that ?
