Iphone mail uses smtp server that doesn't exist

My iphone SE mail persistently uses an smtp server that isn't listed anywhere, but was used 2 iphones ago.

I've deleted the account and smtp servers multiple times.

There's just one main smtp server....no extras

everytime i try to send an email i get: username and password for smtp:mail06xxxxxxxx@authsmtp.Vodafone.nl is incorrect.

and vodafone isn't my provider anymore nor do i use vodafone's smtp server.

Anyone have any idea on how to tackle this ??

iPhone SE, iOS 9.3.1, null

So updated to 9.3.2

Deleted mail account....rebooted

opened mail....choose other....filled in account details....with wrong password.. it accepts the settings.

When opening mail is says username en password for receiving mail incorrect.....when corrected i receive mail.

When sending...it doesn't send....when looking at smtp settings it says no server...then i find 2 ! switched off ziggo servers

I am able to turn the main smtp server on and off.....the other smtp i can switch on....but not off....and then the error appears again...

I'm tossing the iphone out of the window......

Ow ...i didn't get an option to manually enter the correct password anywhere....it just said username / password incorrect...and with the servers switched off it didn't say anything at all...it just didn't send
