It's been a while since I've watched through the series and I don't remember them having any narration.

You likely turned "commentary" or "extra features" on. Go back to the main DVD screen and review your settings.
I rented it via iTunes though and I don't have any settings on my Apple TV that would allow narration.
It's not general ATV settings. It's the playback settings that you see as the first screen when you start the movie.
in settings, general, it is under video descriptions. Turn that off. I had voice over turned off, but when I turned off video descriptions, it did the trick.
Why is there narration in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (MOVIE) and later? The first two don't have narration.
