windows 10 shows wrong time in boot camp

Windows 10 shows the wrong time. this is a big problem because it effects my ability to log in to certain programs I use regularly. Even though I went into Windows Settings and set the Windows system clock to EST the time is 7 to 8 hours off. I tried setting the time settings to auto detect and then off auto detect with no joy.

I have heard that this happens because Apple uses GMT and Windows uses some other method. I really need this to work.

Has anyone found a fix for this?

Does OS X show the correct time? If it does, change your Windows time source to be the same as the Apple source, which is typically time.apple.com or use public NTP servers for both OSes.

If you connect to a Windows Domain/AD server, make sure you have a proper VPN or local connection to such a server.

Times now match but login authenticator still will not work on Pc side. Works perfectly on the mac side. so sad.

Are you using an AD Domain for authentication? Is 'login authenticator' the standard Windows login?

The login I'm having trouble with is Blizzard Battlenet desktop app. User name/password works perfectly but when asked to generate an authentication code with my authentication device and this number is entered I get an error message that says it is incorrect and aborts log in. The same User name/password authentication key works perfectly on the mac side.

The times now are the same on the mac and Win sides but login still fails.

You may need to talk to Blizzard Battlenet Technical Support and raise this issue with them. It is most likely due to the incorrect use of hardware clock.

Tried that. Blizzard tech says boot camp is not supported and can't help so far. I'll keep nagging them. thanks for your advice. appreciated.

Bootcamp is not the critical issue. If the game relies on non-standard APIs or have a proprietary method of code generation, they should be able to fix it.

Temporarily, change the Time setup in Windows, and you know it will be incorrect. It will at least let you play your game.
