I have IPOD classic 160gb will not work with latest version of itunes. Will not allow me to sync. Will this work and if so, how do I link it back up?

Are you saying the iPod does not appear in iTunes, so that's why you can't sync it? OR, are you saying it does appear in iTunes, but it does not sync for some reason?
In the latest iTunes, the iPod appears as a small device button on the horizontal bar. Here's a screenshot of an iPod's device button (circled in red)
When you connect the iPod with iTunes running, do you see the iPod's device button in iTunes?
I seem to have the exact same problem, it connects and the icon shows up. I can even check the contact on my ipod but it will not sync any of the new songs/albums or delete any I have unchecked

The iPod does NOT appear in iTunes anywhere. Before the newest version of itunes it did appear in BOTH places. At the top and in the horizontal menu.
With itunes running it does NOT appear.

I fixed this issue. I ran across Apple Help issues. If you Google this it will come right up. I have Windows 10 but it has instructions for all systems. I followed the instructions and it now works!

Trust me I am NOT a computer geek (no offense) but after I did this, I restarted my computer and the iPod icon was back and I could do all that I did before!!
