But you don't seem to know that there are Native PDFs which cannot be copy/pasted or searched. You can pretend that these are Scanned pdfs and use an OCR app to convert them to Word format, but that is not selective and the result may well need a lot of editing. I guess the OP can decide whether this process makes sense for his particular needs. Ideally the publisher should use another process to produced his Native pdfs which does not use a junk text encoding.
