iTunes cannot locate CD Configuration folder?!?

Everytime I open up iTunes, I get a pop up saying:

"iTunes cannot locate CD Configuration folder, so you cannot import or burn CDs and DVDs. This folder must be in the same directory as iTunes."

So I click ok, and iTunes is fine; it plays my songs that I already have in my library. Except iTunes doesn't read, play or import any CDs I try to load in.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

experimental advice coming up.

that folder should be in the C:\Program Files\iTunes\ folder. can you see it in there?

if so, while itunes is closed, try dragging that folder to the desktop. reboot the PC and do a repair install of itunes. go into your Add/Remove, select iTunes, click "Change" and click "Repair".

does a new CD Configuration folder get generated? if so, does iTunes launch without the error message?
