Logic Pro X "Musical Typing" issue (cannot turn off)
Hi all,
I just downloaded logic pro X after several years on logic 9 and have experienced some issues setting up my Yamaha keyboard as a software instrument controller. (brief rundown on my setup: keyboard usb into computer as well as a 1/4" into mixer, then usb into computer. Computer out to headphones.)
This setup has worked for me countless times before in logic 9 , but after downloading the new program, it seems that I can only use various click or typing based input for software instruments apparently called musical typing.
I have found no semblance of a way to turn off this so-called musical typing, nor have I found anything about selecting my Yamaha YPG-235 as the controller to be preferred over musical typing. Finally, I have even replaced the usb cables to make sure they aren't defective and verify that my computer is receiving the proper signal.
So my question is: Is there anything glaringly wrong with my setup or anything that I'm missing that would prevent me from using my keyboard/controller as various software instruments like I could in Logic 9?
Have you had any similar issues with designating a midi controller and/or musical typing trumping your powered and plugged in keyboard?
Thanks,
PF
