Online backup solution for Mac files?

I'm all-in with the Apple ecosystem. I have iCloud which saves my photos (most important thing). But now, what about my files? To date, I've been backing up to external hard drive using Time Machine. But I'd prefer my backup not be on a device that could burn up (or whatever) being sometimes co-loacated with my MacBook Pro.

I know there are services like Carbonite, but I'd like to be all-Apple if possible. I know I can drag files to my iCloud drive, but that's not a real backup solution.

Any advice? Thanks for any help.

If you want to be sure your data is safe I'd suggest this. Keep it backed up on iCloud and on a external hard drive. Keep a second backup off site and rotate that with your local backup every so often.

I keep both a Time Machine backup and clones. You can use a cloning software like SuperDuper! or CarbonCopy Cloner.

The advantage of the clone is that it is bootable. So if anything happens to your internal drive, you can continue to work normally until it’s fixed. The advantage of TM is that it creates recursive backup, so you can restore a file or the entire drive from a certain point in time.
