I recently upgraded to OSX El Capitan. Don't like this flat new desktop! It doesn't look as professional and elegant as previous versions. Is there a way to go back to the desktop from Mountain Lion with its nice dock and desktop icons? Thanks.

Only by going back to Mountain Lion but Mountain Lion is no longer being update to fix security flaws
You can use an app called cDock which lets you restore the "retro" look

Thanks for the info. Will investigate both to see which one satisfy my requirements. I assume that both apps will let you revert back to the original desktop of El Capitan if I change my mind. Thanks again for the help.
