All of a sudden my Macbook keeps dropping my wifi connection. I know it is not the ISP because my iPad works fine. I have Yosemite 10.10.5. Suggestions other than a restart which I have done several times and it works for about 5 minutes.

All of a sudden my Macbook keeps dropping my wifi connection. I know it is not the ISP because my iPad works fine. I have Yosemite 10.10.5. Suggestions other than a restart which I have done several times and it works for about 5 minutes then drops again. I have switched to an ethernet connection and that seems to be working fine. I am using the ethernet connection to write this. I do mean all of a sudden because I have never had problems with wifi connections before on this laptop.
