Would I get charged for international calling if I have friends in another country if we are both using wifi?

I have a friend who is in Germany, and I have been texting and facetiming him for large amounts of time. Would I get charged for using wifi or is it free?

Texting yes, you would be charged for an international SMS, iMessage & FaceTime no if you are just using wi-fi. You can only iMessage and FaceTime with another iOS device. So, since this is another iOS device, if you are using iMessage (a blue text bubble), then that is just data and would not incur international calling. FaceTime, using wi-fi, again is just data and does not incur international calling rates.
