iPhone won't connect to Sony camera

I have tried connecting my iPhone 6+ to my Sony A6000 in order to shoot photos remotely. I have never been successful after many months of attempts. The camera generates a WIFI network that the iPhone sees but the camera can't make the connection. The little searching wheel just spins without connecting. Using a QR code displayed by the camera, I am able to get that network into the iPhone. However, the camera can't make the connection. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

Salutations ral7,

From what I can gather, you're trying to connect your iPhone and Sony camera using a third party application so you can remotely take pictures using your iPhone.

What we recommend would be to use this article to troubleshoot the application to see if we can get the iPhone and camera paired: If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

If you're still experiencing issues after completing those steps, you will want to reach out to the app developer to determine if it is an issue on their end. You can find their info by doing the following:

Contact the app developer

If you see this issue again, contact the app developer for help:

  1. Find the app in the App Store.
  2. Tap the app, then tap Reviews.
  3. Underneath App Store Customer Reviews, tap App Support.
