Help - Need to convert .dav file to mp4

Help - I have a .dav video file that I need to view from my imac/iphone/ipad. What should I do to be able to view the movie? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

iPad Air, iOS 9.2.1

However, I have never installed or used it so I don't know how safe it is or how well it works.
