Bluetooth Speaker Not Connecting With iPod 5th Gen

Once you fix one problem, another one pops up...

A little over than a week ago, I bought an iHome iBT3, which is a splashproof, triangular shaped speaker. It has bluetooth, which I have used about three times now and it was working fine up until today.

The other day I had a problem with my iPod that results in me trying three methods; force reset, restoring the device, and resetting all default settings. Though I fixed my previous issue, when I tried to connect my speaker today, connected devices came up as two things that I had never seen before. I chose the setting for the iPod to "forget" the devices and tried to connect my speaker to it.

I watched it for 15 mins. The speaker tried to connect and connect and connect and the iPod tried to find the device, but they never linked up with one another; my iHome didn't show up on my iPod and my iPod never read that there was a device in the area.

I tried to force reset the iPod twice and it did nothing and if it has to happen again, I would really, really not like to restore my iPod as it took me two days and multiple handfuls of hair to do such a thing.

Is there anything that I can do to get my two devices to connect with each other?

Thank you in advance.

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 9.3.2, null
