can't update Podcasts or Find My Friends in iTunes sync

I had this exact same issue until I tried the solution discussed here:

Podcast is only available for iOS (Find My Friends also)

I also have this issue.

Hopefully some clarity through soon on how to resolve it.

Hello, Apple will need to sort this out but... You can fix this now. Just delete Find My Friends and Podcasts apps from your iTunes library on your PC or Mac. The Find My Friends and Podcasts apps will remain on all iOS devices. Friends and Podcast will update just as they should on your iOS devices as well... Other apps will update as needed in iTunes and will sync as they should. All Fixed... 🙂

My question is this:-

Is there a new version of Podcasts? When I go to App Store on my phone Podcasts is not listed the updates section. If so is there any way to force the update because if I browse the app in the Ap Store it simply says open, not download nor update.

how do the apps update on the iOS devices?

i have an iPhone 6.

If you have iOS 9 then it can only be done by updating the iOS version of the device, built-in apps can't be updated on their own. The updates that are showing on your computer's iTunes are not for iOS 9

So I can move it to the trash without worrying about losing them, and redownload them?

If your devices are on iOS 9 then those apps are built-in and can't be deleted from them

How do I redownload them? There not in the iTunes store?

You have a device running on an old iOS version ? Try directly on the device via the Purchased tab in its App Store app and see if it shows there

Apple needs to fix this bug.

I am running the latest iOS version and still have the problem.

What problem ? If all of your devices are on iOS 9 then ignore the updates.
