How do I get the trendline equation and R2 value for other functions beside linear to show up

I went to my chem lab today and the professor showed us how to do all of it on excel. I do not currently have the money to purchase excel until the end of the week but the project is due in 2 days so I have no choice but to use numbers. On excel we could pick a trendline wether linear, logarithmic , exponential, etc. when we picked the trendline we could choose the option of showing the equation and the R2 value for any graph option and those two would show up on excel. On numbers I am trying to do the same but the equation and R2 values only show up when I choose a linear graph or a power graph and that's it, is that the only ones that those two things will show up on? Or how can I see the equation and R2 values for a logarithmic trendline or other trendlines?

HI Carol,

Trend lines apply only to charts that plot a y value against an x value. All charts in the list in Numbers are Category charts except 2—the bubble chart and the scatter chart. The example below is a scatter chart, with data points connected by a curve, and a logarithmic trend line calculated from the supplied data.

As can be seen in the upper left of the chart, the trend line equation can be displayed by checking the "Show Equation"box in the Chart Inspector. R² Value displayed the same way.

Barry
