Lost word document on iPad
HI installed word on my ipad2 in last couple of weeks completed a 500 word document was on auto save but when I started a new document I could not find my first one. Any ideas?

Signing into Office for iPad will not delete the files. May be the recent list might have been reset in iPad.
You may use any third party files explorer app (at your own risk) for iPad and search for files stored locally.
Document was auto saved to iPad and came up each day I was working on it, I have tried everything I am able to but no luck. Thanks for advice.
Swipe right to the search screen and type the filename in
If the suggestion by Csound1 does not turn up the document, it is most likely gone. But some more details might help. Are you using iCloud with Pages or are you just keeping the files locally on the iPad? Any other information that you think might be relevant?

My apologies as well. Why I Thought it was a Pages document is beyond me. You did say Word file, and I misread the statement. One last question, even though you say you are not using iCloud (in this case it would be OneDrive) did you make sure that you don't have different locations set up? I have DropBox, OneDrive and the iPad where I can save docs.
Autosave should work if it is enabled.
HI demo, I added oneDrive to my locations in last hour, should have done it sooner and should have been more careful. Auto save just said saved to iPad, I suppose I should have watched more carefully. M
