unable to get full screen with uTube videos

I bought a used Mac-mini 2,1 mid 2007, 1.83GB and 2GB ram. OS 10.6.8 Using Safari I can watch videos, but when I click on full screen, I get a message suggesting the browser doesn't support. I'm using a VGA monitor. On my iMac desktop when that was running snow leopard, I do not recall any trouble with full screen. So I'm puzzled, is there a add-on I need?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), 8GB on 27" 2GB on 17"

Hello Charles Palenz,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you're getting a "browser not supported" message when trying to view full screen YouTube videos on your Mac mini. I know how important it is to make sure you can view videos how you'd like on your Mac.

I recommend taking a look at the Full Screen mode support site from YouTube, specifically the steps listed for making sure you have an up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player installed. Next, follow these steps:

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Select "Safari" from the Apple menu bar in the upper-left comer of your screen and select Preferences from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select the Security tab and put a checkmark in the box next to "Internet plug-ins: Allow Plug-ins", if it's not already check-marked.

If you still have an issue after that, please contact YouTube Support directly.

Best Regards.
