how do i remove the now tv app

I purchased the NOW TV app and then I realised it was Sky. How do I remove it and make sure I haven't purchased a subscription. Will I be billed a monthly subscription charge if I don't use it.

Hi,

No, this is on my MacBook Air, it's really frustrating. I just cant get rid of the icon.

I'm confused then. This is the Apple TV forum, and this is a thread dealing with how to delete apps from an Apple TV.

Why would you think it would work on a Mac? Why would a mac have a Play/Pause button?

Anyway, to delete Apps from a Mac will depend on the type of App. Some can be dragged to the trash from the Applications folder, some can be removed by indeed holding down on their icon in Launchpad, and then pressing the x in the corner when they are shaking, others may have their own uninstaller you need to run.

Specific steps for each type of App here:

OS X: Install, update, and uninstall apps

It refers to Yosemite, but should work on most versions of MacOS just the same.

You can check your Subscriptions in:

Settings->Accounts->Subscriptions->Manage Subscriptions. and see if you have a subscription from that App, unlikely as you would have had to accept terms and conditions and provide your password for the subscription to be purchased. It does not happen automatically.

To remove the App, simply press and hold down on it until all the Apps start shaking, and then press the Play/Pause button to bring up the menu, and select Delete from the menu.
