All of my messages deleted randomly

All of the texts in my messages on my iPhone randomly deleted today. I just went and opened the messages app and it was completely empty. Is there a way to restore these messages back to my phone? I've tried signing in/out of iCloud, turning messages on/off, restarting my phone, etc. These messages are still on my Mac and iPad though, so I know they aren't gone. Is there anyway to restore them back to my iPhone? Doesn't iCloud save messages in backup?

Could I backup the messages via iCloud on my Mac and have them sync to the phone?

My messages are set to delete after one year, I had a ton of messages that dated back a year and now they're all gone. It's just very strange since, if I recall correctly, you can't delete all messages at once in the messages app. This glitch deleted over 100 threads of messages, which is why I'm pretty frustrated.

This is the EXACT thing that happened to me! Same things happened right before. Must be an apple glitch. So frustrating!!!

Messaged just deleted also and aren't restoring when I reset my phone iCloud back up was

On this happened before sndbthy automatically came back

Backing up now will only backup the contents that is currently on your phone.

I've never had a text message delete by itself since I've had the iPhone 3Gs to now the 6S.

settings - message - keep message ? what is your set to?

I woke up the morning of 3/30/17 and all my text messages were gone as well! Never happened before and I've had my iPhone 5s for 3 years now. What's going on?

This happened to me on 6/10/17. My phone restarted by itself and then all of the messages were gone. I'm also experiencing the same problem as SoHollywood where two of my message threads always stay at the top of my inbox even if they aren't my recent texts and the same issue as KandiKane5757 where my Safari tabs automatically delete.

When I search for things in my messages, old messages from prior to 6/10/17 show up so I know they're still on my phone somewhere but when I click on them to open the thread, they don't show in the thread.

Any suggestions or solutions would be awesome. Thanks!

And, I also forgot that my pics will completely clear out and then slowly come back over the day. This happens quite often.
