All of my messages deleted randomly

Backing up now will only backup the contents that is currently on your phone.

I've never had a text message delete by itself since I've had the iPhone 3Gs to now the 6S.

settings - message - keep message ? what is your set to?

Also just happened to me. Insanely frustrating. Was on the phone with Apple for 20 minutes only to be told they had no idea what to do??? I've spent hours googling and trying every suggestion. I JUST WANT MY CONTACTS BACK!!!!!!!

My setting for messages is to delete: NEVER but they just keep disappearing from my phone - even a text from last week is gone today!!! I am getting rid of the Iphone first chance I get - this is just the latest in a series of frustrations!

I woke up the morning of 3/30/17 and all my text messages were gone as well! Never happened before and I've had my iPhone 5s for 3 years now. What's going on?

Also, my search engine erases and doesn't keep any website I go to anymore.

And, I also forgot that my pics will completely clear out and then slowly come back over the day. This happens quite often.
