How long does it take to charge the apple watch?

Testing conducted by Apple in March 2015 using preproduction Apple Watch and software paired with an iPhone using preproduction software. Charge times are from 0% to 80% and from 0% to 100% using the included MagSafe inductive charger. Charge time varies with environmental factors; actual results will vary.

You can restart the watch earlier after charging, if the battery is not fully charged. Restarting requires at least 10 % battery reserve.

takes about 4 hours on mine from 0 to 100 to 80percent probably 2 hours

Four hours is too long. Have you checked of the charger is clean and there is no adhesive foil on the charger? If your Apple Watch won't charge or it won't turn on - Apple Support

The adhesive foil is hard to spot.

My watch took about 2 - 1/2 hours on the first charge 100%.

I Find that charging the Apple Watch overnight is more than suffient. I also recommend checking out the Apple Watch user guide Which is available in the iBooks store.

1 1/2 Hours to 2 1/2 Hours Depemding on how low in a day but with the magnetic charger the watch is very fast at charging I would recommend it
