Outgoing phone call listed as "Canceled Call"

I made an outgoing phone call. The phone rang several times before going to voicemail. The call is now listed as "Canceled Call". Did the person receive my missed call?

iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.2

I have had someone say they have called me on 2 different occasions...but I never received the call and when they sent me a screenshot it stated the call was canceled... but I never received it and was waiting for the call...why is that?

Then why is it listed as "Canceled Call"? Usually when I get someone's voicemail but hang up without leaving a message it'll be listed as an Outgoing Call for 2 seconds or so. There should be a difference between "Canceled Call" and "outgoing call" even though the same thing happened on my end. No?
