Clear Safari Back Button History

I had this question...how do you clear Safari Back Button history. I'm using an iPhone6

Searches showed threads where the answer was not given....couldn't figure out how to reply to the threads so started a new one.

Anyway, I cleared History in the normal way but the current page always had back and forward history. even when I deleted the page and started a new safari session, there was still that back/forward history.

I turned off the phone...back on...started Safari...still there.

Finally I went into settings on Safari and scrolled down to Clear History and Website Data...hit that.

Opened a new safari page and no back/forward history.

So not really a question but would be nice if someone could confirm that this is the answer...or if its still there.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to confirm the steps for removing Safari's history on your iPhone. I'm happy to say that the steps you took are correct.

Clear information from your device

To clear your history and cookies from Safari in iOS 8 or later, tap Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Clear History and tap Clear Cookies and Data.

To clear other stored information from Safari, tap Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.

Clearing your history, cookies, and browsing data from Safari won't change your AutoFill information.

To visit sites without leaving a history, learn how to turn private browsing on or off.
