Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. I'm surprised Apple engineers didn't have the same experience and said, "Gee, we need to have different tips for different people." Amazing how the smartest company on earth can sometimes be unaware of their imperfections. First, my hunch was a matte anti-glare protector would do the trick but I just bought a gloss one. It was always my impression that the matte screens dulled the colors and resolution.
Then I search Amazon and the rest of that tiny retail world for some tips that might work. No luck. So I took a green rubber band (courtesy of Whole Foods) and stretched it from tip to base, secured it with scotch tape, and then trimmed it so only the top inch had the remnants of the rubber band. Can you imagine the stretch of the band over a point made the color disappear and the thickness go way done? So much so that the point works just fine and gives just the right amount of traction. This point will work just fine with a super light layer of materials over it. I bet there are dozens of materials in one's home that would work. Admittedly, this is not an elegant solution for an elegant product and I will keep searching for the right solution...or get the matte screen protector or (drum roll) get PaperLight
