Photos not syncing in iCloud

Actually, this is not helpful. Turning off iCloud Photo Sharing will delete all shared photos. And it is precisely because some photos on iPhone are not syncing with iCloud that there's a problem.

In my case photos didn't sync because I was connected using a VPN. Syncing resumed after I disconnected from the VPN. For this specific issue see Photos not syncing in iCloud with a VPN.

Thanks for your post. I see that your new photos from your iPhone are not showing up on your iPad or Mac and you’re not able to import photos from a shared stream. I know how important photos can be. I’ll be happy to help.

I’m not sure what all you have tried, feel free to skip anything you might have already done. One resource that is helpful is the FAQ for iCloud photo library. I believe from your post you are likely using iCloud photo library.

When do photos and videos upload to iCloud Photo Library?

When you turn on iCloud Photo Library on your iOS device or Mac, your photos and videos will upload after you connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi and your battery is charged. You can see the status and pause the upload for one day when you follow these steps:

• On your iOS device, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos.
• On your Mac, click Photos > Preferences > iCloud.

Depending on your Internet connection speed, the time it takes for your photos and videos to appear on the Photos app on iCloud and all of your devices might vary. Make sure you turn on iCloud Photo Library on each device.

So if your iPhone is not connected to Wi-Fi and doesn’t have a significant charge, your iPhone won’t upload your new photos to iCloud and won’t appear on your other devices.

For your shared photo album that you can’t import photos from, let’s try turning off shared photos and turning it back on. Go to Settings > Photos & Camera > and turn off iCloud Photo Sharing. Once that’s off, go ahead and restart your iPhone and then turn it back on.

So, I have the same problem with iCloud. My photos don't want to sync. This problem appear on iOS 10.2. . I had some issues before but now it is worse. And my albums disappear randomly.

Please Apple, fix these issues.

And I wish that iCloud would be better and better U/I in iCloud Drive in the future.

Synchronizing With no problem until about two or three months ago that my IPad and my iPhone stop syncing my pics. The version of iOS on both is 10.3.2 I think.

Well it definitely resolved mine :-/ Except it never prominently displayed this anywhere; I had to go to Photos->Preferences->iCloud to find out that my photo streaming had been turned off...

Exact same issue. How do we go about fixing this? I'm just about done with apple.

I support more than 6 dozen iOS devices on many accounts. I can tell you iCloud DOES NOT just work fine. It's a mess of bad sync, no sync and unreliable syncing!

Two days after my post, everything started magically working again. Now, about two weeks later, it's back to not updating. SO FRUSTRATING!
