iPhone won't charge after using a mini fan

My sister bought this $1 mini fan that plugs into your iPhone's charging port and the fan uses the iPhone's battery to make the fan move. Today I plugged the fan into my iPhone and the fan started spinning then all of a sudden it just stopped, my sister was in the room and said "Oh that happened when I was using it and now my phone won't charge" so I went and tried to plug it into a wall charger and it wouldn't charge, the only way it is charging right now is by having it plugged into the computer. Can someone please help me and try to figure this out?

I saw this fan at a local store and tested it out for 20 sec. Now my battery dies super fast and doesn't even charge with certain cables that worked only hours before using this fan. Can't even use my car charger anymore.

My phone has completely died after the same thing! Can't charge it and it is not recognized as being plugged in by my iMac ...... took it to apple they said it needs to be replaced because they can't fix it and I have to pay because the warranty period is over... I have asked my legal team at work about it and I have a third party claim! I didn't not even buy a fan, the sales man just plugged it into my phone to demonstrate it .... I will be chatting to him again very soon! Sad face ....

I had the exact same problem, only according to the geeks at the Apple store the mother board on my iphone was fried and was phone was rendered garbage. I could not charge my phone at all.

The Apple store would not even give me credit on the phone towards an upgrade as the iphone could not be turned on !!!

I feel Apple should investigate this further if this product is damaging our iphones, it should be pulled off the market.

There was nothing visibly wrong with the charging port, no explanation as to why the phone would no longer charge.

I saw these fans at Staples and decided to try one out to see if it was worth it. It was in my phone for no more than ten seconds and then my phone would not charge using my car charger or portable one. The only place my phone will now charge is on my dock and the battery won't last very long after taking a really long time to charge. It seems like it dies faster when I'm not using it than when I am. I'm a month away from an upgrade so I'm going to have to find an old phone to use until then. I have notified Staples and am trying to get in touch with Apple to warn people about these products.

No, you will need to unsolder the power regulating IC and get a replacement and solder it on. The part will be relatively inexpensive the equipment you will need to perform the repair will be around $300 or so and you will need lots of practice. Or you can buy a professional jig for a few thousand.
