bracketed email addresses are getting doubled

Hello,

For some reason when I receive email with addresses in brackets, <person@whatever.com>, the address is getting doubled. When I reply in Mail, the address is listed twice, which prevents it from sending. I get: "The server response was: Your message does not conform to RFC2822 standard"

How do I keep this from happening? For now, I have to delete the address field, and retype the single address.

Thanks,

Patrick

It isn't the bracketed address, it is probably a mis-configured client on the senders end. I have seen several friends who have gone through an ISP conversion end up with their email address entered as their Display Name. I don't know if it is bad scripting or what. So, what ends up happening is that their email is sent with a "From" address of <someone@someplace.com><someone@someplace.com> instead of
"Display Name" <someone@someplace.com>.

I've seen this problem with email addresses from three different friends using bellsouth.net accounts. One is a MAC user (with latest Mactel processor). The others are Windows users.
You may see something like this from the recepient:
<test@bellsouth.net> <test@bellsouth.net>

When you reply to this address the email may fail. (no leading chevron)
test@bellsouth.net> <test@bellsouth.net> <test@bellsouth.net>

Take a look at long headers: "View->Message->Long Headers" Find X-mailer. In every case I've received the double email addresses the X-Mailer is Openwave.

Normal(Mac): X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.752.3)
Normal(Win): X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook, Build 10.0.6626
Double: X-Mailer: Openwave WebEngine, version 2.8.16.1
