Quicktime doesn't give me option to record iPhone 6 screen??

I want to record my iPhone screen for a video I am making. I want to post the video tomorrow so if anyone has an answer I will need it fairly quick. Anyway I know many people that have recorded their phone screens using Quicktime's video recorder. I have read through the steps on many different websites to try to record my iPhone screen however my iPhone is not a given option in the drop down menu. Is there a setting somewhere on my phone or laptop that I need to change? My laptop is a MacBook Air that I recently purchased in May and my iPhone 6 was bought in December. My MacBook is running OS X El Capitan and iPhone is using the update before 9.3.3 (I still need to update it but I was planning to after I finished my video because I need to erase some things to get storage but I have some important things I have on my phone I do not want to delete for purposes of the video). Here is a picture of what it is doing. My iphone is plugged into my laptop and I have tried many different chargers. What do I need to do to fix it.. If there is no way to fix it are there any free apps or apps below a dollar I can purchase to record my screen? Thanks! I need an answer asap. User uploaded file
