What is the banner that drops down from the top of support windows good for?

Whenever I scroll down to read a page on the Apple forums, a banner drops down from the top of the window. The banner has the question on it that started the thread.

I can't think of any useful purpose it serves unless one has a VERY short attention span. It's annoying, and covers up some text (reduces the window size), so it's worse then 'not helpful' - it's actually a hindrance.

Yes, I see the "X" which I can click to close the banner - but is there any way I can turn off this feature altogether?

Ahh, so that's how it works. Most helpful!

But about this trust business. There is this guy on my TV who keeps telling me I should trust him. Kind of creeps me out. That and his orange hair. I am reminded of a character from an old Firesign Theater skit, name of George Tirebiter. He used to tell folks, 'You can trust me, because I'm always right, and I never lie. (if you know what I'm talking about, it might be better if you don't admit it).

OK Chitlins, you win this round of Stump the Chump. I thought I knew the Firesign oeuvre pretty well, but "Ruby Begonia" was not on my radar. I was able to find only one intersection between Ruby Begonia and Firesign - a one-line mention on a 1977 album (which I've never listened to). Impressive!

My problem is solved, and we are so far off-topic I'm expecting a tap on the shoulder by the moderators at any moment, so I'm outta here. Thanks again to all!
