Apple tv 4th gen black screen

I get a black screen intermittently when using my Apple tv 4

I've checked all the connections

(I have a 2nd gen apple tv and when I switch the HDMI the 2nd gen displays immediately.

I can't seem to find too much help on the web and am hoping someone

A) had this problem

B) has a fix

So now that I've done this and looked everywhere online I have a little more information.

I have a Monoprice 4X4 splitter (404E model I think)

I can select the blu ray, apple tv 2, and go back and forth between the two.

No problem.

I can start with everything off and select Apple tv 4 no problem.

If I switch to something other than Apple tv 4 and try to go back I get the hourglass flashing

If I go to another activity the other activity works fine

Back to apple tv 4 and its still jammed.

Any thoughts?

I've done everything above and read up on HDCP compliance (not sure if that has anything to do with this)

All my HDMI cables are Redmere high quality.

Everything is plugged in and set properly.

help...

Yes. It looks like you need a switch that holds the EDID info, so ATV doesn't think the world has fallen in when you switch away. I guess that, when you switch back, neither the TV or ATV gets a signal that anything has changed, so they're basically deadlocked. That's why I suggested hitting the Home button, etc., to kick ATV back to life. If you search for switches with EDID, there seem to be lots of choices, just not the one you have, unfortunately. If you find a solution, please post it and mark it solved, since it might help other folks. Good luck!
