Aug 4, 2016 2:57 PM in response to ipadby11tut.byby achernyakevich,I have the same problem for iPhone - I had reset it and restored from backup and detected that 'define' function lead no result due to missed dictionaries and even more -> I can't download any dictionarie.
THough when I had just updated (no reset) my wife's iPhone to iOS 9.3.3 it still has working define function and dictionaries are availabl.

Aug 4, 2016 11:41 PM in response to Akronimby mcsp,I have exactly the same problem.
I upgraded my iPhone 6 to iOS 9.3.3 just last Tuesday (didn't reset/backup) and noticed the problem the next day. I also upgraded our iPad Mini soon after that but all built-in dictionaries are still available there.
I contacted Apple Support via Twitter and they want to run a diagnostic test as soon as I get to backup my iPhone (which I have yet to do as I am too busy and Internet connection here is sooo slooow). I just hope it won't go as far as having to reset my Phone and restore it from backup (which I'm guessing won't help based on others' replies).

Aug 8, 2016 12:06 PM in response to Akronimby Thunderhawki,I'm having the same issue, but on my iPhone 6+ after upgrading from iOS 8 to 9.3.3
I keep looking online to see if any type of fix for this materializes, but as yet it doesn't seem prevelant (or noticed).
I do hope that someone gets around to addressing this soon...

Aug 8, 2016 1:05 PM in response to Akronimby zaph0d,AppleSupport wanted me to do device restore from iTunes, which I refuse to do. This makes me believe they don't have a solution. We'll probably have to wait for iOS update and hope for the best.

Aug 8, 2016 1:08 PM in response to zaph0dby MJ_Hawke,Good thing you didnt do it if you didnt want to then. Because I did a full restore. From zero, I mean it! And it did nothing to help solve this problem.

Aug 8, 2016 5:26 PM in response to Akronimby Dave03,I also did a full restore. It doesn't work. I hope Apple provides a solution soon. It's very annoying to read without a dictionary.

Aug 8, 2016 7:49 PM in response to Akronimby lunarTJ,I have the same problem. I bought iPhone SE a couple days ago. From the beginning, the list was empty!!
It happened not only for iBooks but for other apple apps, for example Safari, Note, and so on.
