hindi keyboard

i have macbook air and i want to know what is what is shortcut for special in hindi like in windows alt+0170 - User uploaded file^

The Mac does not force you to memorize key-codes or use a paper "cheat sheet"


System preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources ...

... and check the box that says [√] Show Input menu in MenuBar


Click the InputMenu or flag Icon in the MenuBar.

"Show keyboard Viewer" yields a "live" keyboard layout, where the Option, Shift, Control, and Command keys can be used to see exactly which keys will produce which graphics in the currently-selected language.

"Show Character viewer" yields a choice of types of views of all possible graphics that can be produced, sorted by types.

Your list of alt codes looks like it is for an old junk non-Unicode font. Apple only supports the internationally agreed Unicode standard for Hindi. You activate the Devanagari Qwerty keyboard via system preferences/keyboard/input sources and then use the Keyboard Viewer to see which key does what. Conjuncts are made by typing the f key between the two base letters. The word "hindi" for example is typed like this: h i n f d I
