your connection is not secure

What time is it?

Is your time correct within five minutes? you cannot make a secure connection without pretty close time.

The message means your connection to the site is not encrypted.

To get encrypted connection, use https://site-address/, e.g. https://www.aol.com/ for the site you posted.

Note: not all sites support encrypted connection.

Which version of MacOS is important because all the browsers available for the oldest viable versions of MacOS are in the process of being rejected by individual Web sites (not by the web in general) due to inadequate encryption. What was perfectly fine is now seen to have too many security holes to be viable.

So it is possible there is Nothing wrong with your Mac, or your browsers. The problem may be that the standards are being tightened as we speak, and by this fall, most sites will warn you, or reject your connection completely due to 'browser encryption not good enough'.

If your Router has been given WPA or WPA-2 Password security then your connection is safe, however you can't answer for the security of a Web Browser.

That is do you have to enter a password to join the network?

My home Wi-Fi network is not encrypted (I live in the woods, too far away to be seen by people passing on the street).

I have not encountered this issue because of unencrypted Wi-Fi.

I changed the time to correct time. This fixed it instantly.
