PS4 Port Forward Help

I have been having an issue trying to port forward my PS4. I have the apple extreme and have created a static ip then I went in and entered the UDP and TCP as follows :

TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480

UDP: 3478, 3479

But next to the TCP I get the message "The port mapping entry you entered already exists."

I have no idea what to do and I am just trying to port forward my PS4 and then do the same with my Vita to get a better connection outside of my house when connected to remote play.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Ports can be only forwarded once. So you cannot forward the same ports to both PS4 and Vita.

A port can already be allocated by the NAT-PMP (automatic Apple system equivalent to upnp) system and it will then refuse to allow the manual port forward.

Try just a reboot of the AE.. then using just the computer .. leave everything else off.. do your port forwarding.. if that still fails.. factory reset the AE and do it as part of the initial setup.

Tesserax has a user tip .. but you seem to have it right.

You cannot forward the same port twice.. as already stated. If you have forwarded it to the PS4 you cannot forward it to the Xbox.

This is a major issue for gaming consoles because Apple refuse to recognise the UPNP standard.

The only way to overcome issues with multiple gaming consoles is ..

1. Use a router with UPNP. It should be on the list of compatible routers.. both sony and MS will have lists of routers they have tested on.

You can keep your apple router to use in bridge to whatever suitable router fits your setup. But you need to rely on UPNP to solve multiple gaming consoles. Apple don't make gaming consoles so they make no provision for them.

2. Use multiple internet public IP addresses or connections. This is expensive but should be increasingly possible with IPv6 if your ISP supports it.
