driving all day yesterday... at around 8:30pm last night, CarPlay Maps is still in day mode, too bright and distracting to drive as well as viewing the map directions, is there a way to force the Maps turn into night mode?
THANK YOU. Just got an ‘18 crosstrek and I couldn’t figure this problem out for the life of me, turned dash brightness one notch down and maps immediately went into night mode.

I had the same problem with my new Subaru Impreza. The fix is make sure the dashboard light dimmer is NOT set at 100%. Take it down one notch and night mode on MAPS will kick right in.
It is my understanding the night mode will only be triggered during navigation, so if you are just viewing the map that might be why. I may be wrong though because I'm not super familiar with CarPlay.
