open sfw file on a mac

I found photo CD's from my late father from a company called PhotoWorks. It's labeled for PC use but looking through the file directory it appears the photos are in .sfw format. I can't find any programs that will open them. Any ideas?

if SWF

swf are shockwave files.

or they can also rarely be embedded video in which case VLC player may open them.
