How do I type accents in spanish on my mac keyboard - what key is options?

There are two methods. One methods depends slightly on whether you have typamatic keys set in keyboard prefs.


The simplest is to type, at full speed, Option-e + <vowel> for whatever vowel you want with a regular accent:

é, á, í, ó, ú.


The second is to hold the <vowel> key down, and in a brief moment a selection of the possible accented characters will be displayed above it, and can be clicked of course, but typists will want to note the gray numbers shown under each variation, and type the appropriate number rather than have to Mouse to get what you want.
