Time capsule Not Recognized in AP Utility

I have two air port time capsules on the home network. As of today, both are working fine, with green status lights, but neither are showing up in airport utility. It says, "device not found,.... Was previously part of the network. Check that it still in range, powered on>.. Etc." power is on with green status lights on both... My last back up on the iMac, was 5:40 pm eastern, 8-11-16. So I think what ever happen, happened about that time. 1 APTC is 2TB, the other 3TB. The 3 TB is about 9 months old, and the era year older. Any ideas??/

This JUST starting happening to me. I reset my whole network (heads up to the smart guys who responded first - that stuff was totally meaningless - we know how and when to do this simple stuff, but something is amiss with Apple technology). So nothing after reset - ✅.

Restarted devices (iPad, iPhone, MBP). Nothing. ✖

Completely factory reset AirPort Extreme (version 7.7.7). Came back to life.

Then... back off the network again.

It's not a "simple DNS issue". It's not simple at all.

Add me to the "Recently a lot of AE's suddenly developed this problem" category.

I'm having the same problem with my newest Airport Extreme (the tall one), but not with an older Airport Extreme or even an older Airport Express, all of which have BTMM enabled.

All of a sudden, very recently I could no longer access the AE using the Airport Utility graphic page on my MacBookPro, my iPhone, or my iPad, even though these devices were using the wifi it was providing. I also could not access it remotely from another location using the "Other WiFi Devices" button on Airport Utility on my Mac.

What works for me, as reported here or somewhere I read recently, is to simply use the Airport Utility on a Mac running local to the Airport Extreme and then go: File => Configure Other. Put in your local IP address, and then the base station admin password, and this allowed me into the settings, just as if I'd clicked on the AE icon and selected "Edit".

It appears that Apple has broken something that had been working for a long time with some models of Airport base stations, and spending hours on the phone with "support" that doesn't know what the issue is could result in lots of resetting things, but end up being a waste of your time.
