16 Bit to 24 bit?

Hi.
I've been helping a friend finish off recording an album which is being sent away to be mixed and mastered professionally. I came into the project late (just recorded the vocals) and i've noticed that everything has been recorded at 16bit. Naturally the producer wants everything in 24bit format. I noticed that when I export the audio files I can select 24 bit. Is there any loss of quality if the files are converted from 16 to 24bit, any nasty side effects? Should I just bounce them to 16bit? Many Thanks.

( Unless... is it hot cocoa? Mine definitely contained coffee )

Cocoa? Cocoa? Not on your life! It's coffee my friend... Coffee. Black, no sugar. And lots of it. "Keep it comin' " (Randy Quaid in Independence Day). Java, joe, the muddy cup, wake-up juice, etc. Water at 190º, french press, allow time for proper steepage, and there ya have it. I'm long over my ceramic "diner mug" phase (note the usage of a well-discussed aspect of Logic, thereby making this post legal for this thread) and into the bone china cup thing. Retains the heat much longer. I recommend it highly.

Now, what were we talking about?
