How do I change paper orientation when printing in Photos?

In Photos on OSX El Capitan, I would like to print some photos. I set them up to print two per page, but then when I went to print, the paper was oriented landscape and not portrait as was indicated in the preview. (screenshot below)

There appears to be no way to set the orientation for the paper from within Photos, and no option within the print dialogue box to change this. I looked up other forum posts and people suggested to set the default paper size in the printer setup ...mine is showing 8.26 by 11.69 inches (A4), which should be portrait.

Any way I can change this so I can actually print photos on paper?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

I couldn't get the orientation to be changed but found a workaround.

1 - select the two photos to print ], Option (right) - click on them and select Rotate Counterclockwise from the contextual menu.

to get you this:

Now print as you did and you'll get this:

You have to pick a custom size that will allow you to print them with the paper in the portrait orientation. That means for a square photo the max size will be about 5" square. So do a custom size and experiment.

Thanks, but that doesn't really help. All I get is this:

I can't believe there's no way to change the orientation to print.
