Iphone 5s caught fire while on charge

Hi, i gifted iphone 5s to my sister on her anniversary there was an issue with the phone it was heating so service center replaced the device and gave me after lots of try , and now few days back the phone caught fire while kept on charge and after speaking after speaking to customer care people told that phone was tempered and in the case phone was never taken to service centre before , I don't know what kind of service is provided by Apple my first experience with Apple iPhone 5S is the worst experience and in future will never buy an Apple product, my god grace my sister had minor injuries on her hand and she was using the phone while it was kept on charge and as soon as she is saw the Flames from the iPhone 5S by which phone broke down into pieces I send the images To Apple Support center but it took two to three days to respond the same and stating that phone was tempered can anyone suggest me what can be done to solve this issue.

you can complain to apple using their feedback channel http://www.apple.com/feedback/

charging is only 5volts so unless a horrible defect ac charger sending 230volt AC or the likes into the usb cable then that should not be able to cause a fire.

It is pretty hard, perhaps impossible, for an iPhone to catch on fire on its own. However non-Apple charging cables catch on fire all the time. My guess here is that if you dissect the cable you'll find that it is not original or Made for iPhone certified and is missing the voltage protection chips. Can you tell us where you got the charging cable?

Everything was original official charger was used while on charge m not sure what was tge issue but it was the worst experience i wil be uploading the pics kindly check on tge same

Do NOT start taking apart cables or the phone. If you do, you'll have even less of a case that the phone/charger wasn't tampered with.

Edit: well, too late I see. Now that you've taken the phone apart, Apple has no obligations under warranty. If those are the pictures you sent, that is why they're saying the phone was tampered with.

There was no option other thn throwing the phone when it caught fire and after throwing the phone it got opened completely there was no tempering done with the device..it just for the safty concern amd instant reaction to avoid any type of injuries

That is a lithium ion battery fire and looks typical for that. Something punctured the battery.
