I can't log out of my Imessage

Hi there, there's a few parts to this question

A few years back, I permanently connected my iphone 5 to my apple acct. I recently got a new Iphone 6s and transferred everything, even settings, from my old iphone 5. Because of the new phone and previous settings, I can no longer click on icloud, imessage, facetime etc. because they are "greyed out" and therefore cannot connect my phone number to my mac imessage account.

I hope that makes sense so far.

So what I'm trying to figure out here is either:

-how do I "un-grey" those settings (how can i toggle imessage on and off again since its "locked")

-how do I connect my phone number to my mac if I am unable to log off of my imessage account on my iphone 6sUser uploaded file

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.3, null

Hi

Go to: Settings > General > Restrictions:

If Restrictions is not currently turned on:

  • Try turning it on (you will need to set a passcode), pausing for a few moments and then turning it off again (enter the same passcode).

If Restrictions is turned on:

  • Turn it off (you will need the Restrictions passcode that was set when the option was enabled - this may be different to your unlock passcode).
  • If you cannot remember the passcode to turn off Restrictions, you will need to erase the iPhone and then set it up as new.
  • If you have a backup of your iPhone that was made before Restrictions was turned on, you may then wish to restore it from that backup (using the same backup as previously will only restore the same restrictions).

First try resetting the new iPhone. If that does not solve it, go to Settings> iCloud and sign out of your account, reset again, then sign back into iCloud.

If it still acts up, restore the iPhone and the reload the most recent backup (sign into iCloud if prompted). This erases data but you recover it by loading the backup.

If it still acts up, restore again but don't load any backup since it might be corrupted. Doing this is a last resort since you'll have to start over with all your account setups, settings preferences, and you'll lose data like text and call history, app data, etc.
